Imagen 3

Google has officially rolled out its latest AI image generator, Imagen 3, to all Gemini users, accessible for free on both mobile and desktop platforms. Imagen 3, touted as Google’s most advanced AI image model to date, offers significant improvements in image quality, accuracy in following user prompts, and fewer visual artifacts compared to previous versions.

However, one notable limitation has left some users disappointed: to generate images of people, users must upgrade to Gemini Advanced, which costs $19.99 per month as part of the Google One AI Premium Plan.

Despite this restriction, Imagen 3 still offers a broad range of features on the free tier, allowing users to generate photorealistic landscapes, animals, richly detailed paintings, and even imaginative claymation scenes. Each image is rendered in 2048 x 2048 resolution, with no daily limits on the number of downloads.

Google is particularly proud of Imagen 3’s ability to handle text within images, but some users have reported mixed results, especially when creating intricate comic panels with speech bubbles. Nevertheless, with its versatility and improvements in design capabilities, Imagen 3 is expected to compete among the best AI image generators in the market.

While free users can explore a wide array of creative possibilities, the restriction on human figures remains a key drawback unless they opt for the premium version.
