Over two days, teams of up to four AI experts from each country will tackle a series of technical challenges, ranging from AI ethics to advanced problem-solving using deep generative models and kernel methods. Participants qualified for the Olympiad after a five-week lecture series aimed at refining their expertise in key AI areas.
The event is held in cooperation with the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) and UNESCO-affiliated International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence in Slovenia. This collaboration aims to provide a global platform for AI innovation and to help countries stay on top of the rapid changes in AI technology.
As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which focuses on economic diversification, SDAIA is using the Olympiad to highlight the Kingdom’s role in advancing AI technologies. The event also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by promoting AI literacy and skill-building in communities worldwide.
Future Olympiad events are set to focus on school students, encouraging young talent to engage with AI technologies, fostering a new generation of innovators equipped to solve global challenges.
The competition not only showcases international AI talent but also underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to positioning itself as a leader in the AI-driven future.
