Hyderabad, September 6, 2024 — Telangana is set to become an AI-powered state with the launch of a comprehensive strategy document by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the AI Global Summit. The plan outlines a six-point agenda to revolutionize sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, and mobility with AI-driven services, aiming to reach over one crore people by 2027.

Key initiatives include appointing AI nodal officers in government offices, establishing data annotation hubs, and launching the Telangana Data Exchange Platform (TGDex) to provide quality data for AI innovations. The state will also focus on developing AI datasets specific to local languages and culture, ensuring more efficient and cost-effective solutions.

To support innovation, the government will offer subsidized access to compute capacity for start-ups and departments working on socially conscious AI solutions. The strategy also targets AI skill development, aiming to train five lakh professionals by 2027 and introduce AI curricula in public schools.

A proposed AI City near Hyderabad will house multinational corporations, research institutions, and start-ups, making Telangana a global AI hub.

This transformative vision positions Telangana as a leader in AI adoption and innovation, enhancing both the economy and quality of life for its citizens.
